PARIS--WEB France made it to the final of the FIBA Women's Olympic Qualifying Tournament after beating the Cats in overtime in a classic match. The Gold Medal Game will be set at the Women's Olympic Basketball Tournament Paris 2024.
Copper scored 10 of her 12 points in the fourth quarter and was a team-best plus-8 in the US Women's 67-66 victory over France.
The US Women had not lost an Olympic game in 32 years and had won 60 straight Olympic games since 1996 going into Sunday's contest.
Despite basketball's steady globalization, the United States continues to solidify its dominance as the world's best.
