This Years Perseid Meteor Shower Will Peak During The Overnight Hours Of Late Sunday Night Into Early Monday Morning Aug 12

When is the next meteor shower?

This year's Perseid meteor shower will peak during the overnight hours of late Sunday night into early Monday morning, Aug. 12.

Meteor showers are caused by Earth passing through the rubble left behind by comets and asteroids.

The Perseids are caused by debris from the comet Swift-Tuttle. The comet orbits the sun once every 133 years, and when it passes close to the sun, the heat causes it to shed dust and gas. This dust and gas forms a trail behind the comet, and when Earth passes through this trail, we see meteors.

The Perseids are one of the most popular meteor showers of the year, and they can be seen all over the world. The best time to see them is late at night, away from city lights. You can simply lie down on a blanket and look up at the sky. You don't need any special equipment to see the meteors, but binoculars or a telescope can help you see them more clearly.

The Perseids will peak around Aug. 11 through Aug. 13. This means that the nights of Aug. 11 and 12 will be the best time to see them. However, you may still be able to see some meteors on the nights before and after the peak.
