High-class match between top teams

THW Kiel and Rhein-Neckar Löwen played a spectacular match on Sunday evening. The game was close , intense and full of action. Löwen coach Sebastian Hinze had to do without Patrick Groetzki, who was recently voted MVP of the season, as well as Albin Lagergren and Jerry Tollbring. Löwen started the game very well and took an early lead. However, the Kiel team fought back and managed to equalize. The game remained close until the end both sides giving their all.

Red card after 45 seconds

In the 45th second, Kiel’s Niclas Ekberg was sent off with a red card for a hard foul on Lion’s Jannik Kohlbacher. This decision was controversial, as some observers felt that the foul did not warrant a red card.

A well-deserved victory for the lions

Despite the outnumbered situation, Kiel fought back and managed to stay in the game. In the end, however, the Rhein-Neckar Löwen were able to secure a deserved 31:28 victory. The victory was particularly important for the Lions, as it allowed them to move up to second place in the Bundesliga table. Kiel, on the other hand, slipped to third place.

Statements after the game

Löwen coach Sebastian Hinze was pleased with his team’s performance: “We played a great game today and deserved to win. We were able to compensate for the absence of some important players and showed a great team performance.”

Kiel coach Filip Jicha was disappointed with the result, but praised his team’s fighting spirit: “We fought back well, but in the end we were not able to win. We have to accept this defeat and learn from our mistakes.”
