Jordan A Staunch Trump Ally Has Repeatedly Made Unsubstantiated Claims That The Election Was Stolen

CNN's Dana Bash presses Rep. Jim Jordan on evidence of 2020 election fraud

Jordan, a staunch Trump ally, has repeatedly made unsubstantiated claims that the election was stolen

Bash challenged Jordan to provide evidence to support his claims, but he declined to do so

CNN's Dana Bash on Friday pressed Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) on whether he has any evidence to support his repeated claims that the 2020 election was stolen.

Jordan, who is poised to seek the House speakership for a third time, has been a staunch ally of former President Donald Trump and has echoed Trump's baseless allegations of widespread voter fraud.

During an interview on CNN's "State of the Union," Bash asked Jordan if he had any evidence to support his claims. Jordan responded by saying that he had seen "a lot of things" but did not provide any specific examples.

"I've seen a lot of things that make me concerned about the integrity of our elections," Jordan said. "I've seen a lot of things that make me think that we need to do a better job of securing our elections."

Bash pressed Jordan further, asking him if he had any evidence of widespread voter fraud. Jordan declined to provide any specific examples, but said that he believes there was "a lot of funny business" in the 2020 election.

"I'm not going to get into the specifics of what I've seen," Jordan said. "But I've seen a lot of things that make me concerned about the integrity of our elections."

Bash's interview with Jordan comes as the House select committee investigating the January 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol continues its work. The committee has subpoenaed Jordan and other Republican lawmakers who have made unsubstantiated claims about the 2020 election.

Jordan has refused to cooperate with the committee's investigation, and has called it a "partisan witch hunt." He has also continued to make unsubstantiated claims about the 2020 election.

Bash's interview with Jordan is a reminder that the issue of election integrity is still a contentious one in the United States. Despite the fact that there is no evidence of widespread voter fraud, Jordan and other Republican lawmakers continue to make unsubstantiated claims about the 2020 election.
