Great News For Celtic As Civil War Looms At Ibrox

Great news for Celtic as Civil war looms at Ibrox

King ramps up the insanity with his claims that Gerrard “was absolutely kicked out” in 2021

Ally McCoist labeled Kris Boyd an “absolute clown” after his “ridiculous” and “embarrassing” claims about Steven Gerrard’s Rangers exit.

Boyd has been on a crusade to have Gerrard’s achievements at Ibrox downgraded ever since the Liverpool legend left the club in November 2021.

The former Kilmarnock striker claimed Gerrard was “kicked out” of Ibrox by the board after failing to deliver the ten-in-a-row title.

McCoist, who played alongside Boyd for Scotland, has leaped to the defence of his old team-mate and accused Boyd of talking “absolute nonsense.”

“Kris Boyd is talking absolute nonsense,” McCoist said. “Steven Gerrard was not kicked out of Rangers. He left of his own accord to go to Aston Villa.

“It’s ridiculous to suggest otherwise. Gerrard did a great job at Rangers and he deserves a lot of credit for what he achieved.

“He’s a great manager and I’m sure he’ll go on to have a successful career in England.”

Gerrard’s Rangers exit

Gerrard left Rangers in November 2021 after three-and-a-half years in charge. He won the Scottish Premiership title in 2021 and also led the club to the Europa League final in 2022.

Since Gerrard’s departure, Rangers have struggled under Giovanni van Bronckhorst. The Dutchman has failed to win a major trophy and the team has been eliminated from the Champions League and Europa League in the group stages.

Boyd’s claims about Gerrard’s exit have been met with widespread ridicule from Rangers fans and pundits alike.

McCoist is the latest high-profile figure to dismiss Boyd’s claims and it’s clear that the former striker is out of step with the majority of opinion on this issue.

Conclusion

Gerrard was a successful manager at Rangers and his achievements should not be downplayed. Boyd’s claims are simply not credible and should be dismissed out of hand.
